If you are not so inclined to walk and/or support that sun bath, you can connect in Nuevos ministerios and go straight to callao or sol to do a short walk around there, see plaza mayor and surroundings or you can go to tirso de molina, lavapies or atocha to check the reina sofia museum. You need much more time to visit "el prado" museum. Anyway, Madrid is a nice place to walk around a few hours and airport subway station make it easy for your timeframe but be adviced that Barajas Airport is quite large and it takes around 20' to/from the S4 terminal (if your flights are there). That means travelling without my laptop. I'll probably just bring an iPad and some thumb drives. The only problem with this is that I have a presentation to give in the very last time slot on Friday afternoon, Sep 04 (http://act.yapc.eu/ye2015/talk/6303). I'll need a machine on which (a) I can run a browser to show HTML slides either on a thumb drive or my Linode; and (b) a terminal and ability to SSH to that Linode. That's all. So, if there's anyone who can lend me a Mac or Unix machine at the tail end of the conference, I will be very grateful. Please contact me off list. Looking at www.phonehouse.es, www.movistar.es and others it seems like the SIM prepaid cards have almost disappeared or don't have any offer that meets the conference attendee needs. I really hope that that shops have more options than those available online. If anyone else has more information about this, please share it. I bought a "Holidays" prepaid card from Orange today. 1.5Gb interet, 60 minutes for international calls, 15?. There was also a cheaper offer from another company, 10?, 800Mb and a little less talk time. - Salve -- #!/usr/bin/env perl sub AUTOLOAD{$AUTOLOAD=~/.*::(\d+)/;seek(DATA,$1,0);print# Salve Joshua Nilsen getc DATA}$"="'};&{'";@_=unpack("C*",unpack("u*",':50,$'.# '3!=0"59,6!`%%P\0!1)46%!F.Q`%01,`'."\n"));eval "&{'@_'}"; __END__ is near! :)
